A. Measured parental involvement of father vs. mother
- Both the fathers and the mothers involved in this study were given questionaries and asked to keep a time diary of the interactions they shared with their child (boy or girl)
- The familes involved in the study were mostly Caucasian from a middle-class background
B. The research project was also designed to measure how parental involvement is related to perceptions of child temperament and parental stress
- This created the possibility that the parent could react differently (more stressed)if the child behaved in an uncontrollable manner.
